By around 36 weeks, which is what this plan is dated to. Most babies arrive within a couple of weeks of the due date, but a meaningful number come earlier, and a bag packed in a hurry is the one missing the phone charger.
Your notes, comfortable clothes, toiletries, a long phone charger and snacks for you; clothes, nappies and a blanket for the baby; and a change of clothes and food for your birth partner. The note in this plan splits it into those three lists.
Your preferences for pain relief, who you want with you, feeding, and anything important to you after the birth, kept to a page. It is a starting point for a conversation with your midwife or doctor rather than a contract, since births rarely follow a script.
