Goal roastTell it your goal.
It will not be kind.

Most goals fail for reasons their owner could have listed on day one. There is no measure, so nothing can be checked. There is no deadline, so nothing is ever late. It has been restarted twice, which means the problem is not the plan. Everybody knows this about their own goals and almost nobody says it out loud, because the polite version — “that sounds great, good luck!” — is what you get from everyone you know.

Free, no sign-up. Worked out in your browser, nothing sent anywhere, and the result imports into EvyOS.

Type the goal. It cannot roast an empty box, though it would like to.

Everything is worked out in this page and saved in this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere.

✦ How to use it

Three things that make it work.

1
Write the goal as you actually say it

Not the tidied-up version. The tidied-up version is what is hiding the problem.

2
Be honest about the restarts

This is the field that changes the diagnosis most, and the one people round down.

3
Read the last section

The rewrite is the point. The rest is just getting your attention.

This is the impolite version. It reads what you type, finds the specific hedges, and says them. It is blunt on purpose, and it is blunt about the goal rather than about you: the things it names are all things you can change this afternoon.

At the end it gives you the version that would work. That part is not a joke.

✦ The limit

An answer is not a record.

This works something out and then forgets it. It cannot tell you whether the number moved, because it has no memory of the last time you ran it and no idea what you did in between. Every calculator on the internet has that limit, and if it has never bothered you then this one is yours for free for good.

EvyOS is the same structure with the work recorded against it. Send the result across and it becomes real goals, tasks or habits with their dates — then the next answer is computed from what actually happened rather than from what you remember typing.

Questions

Goal roast, answered.

About the goal, yes. About you, no — and that distinction is deliberate. Everything it says is a property of how the goal is written, which means everything it says is something you can change this afternoon. Insults about the person would be both nastier and useless.
It reads what you typed for state verbs, dithering verbs and the absence of any number, then combines that with the deadline, the restarts and the hours. Every rule is printed with the result, so you can disagree with a specific one rather than with a score.
Then it was. A number, a date, real hours, somebody who knows, no history of restarts — that is a goal, and the tool has nothing to add. Go and do it.
Because a verdict that changes on refresh is a slot machine. The wording is picked from the input itself, so the result is stable, shareable and arguable — which is what makes it worth screenshotting.
No. It is read in the page and never sent anywhere. Sending the rewritten goal to EvyOS is a separate, explicit step.

Keep the answer.
And the record of doing it.

Goals, projects, tasks, habits and skills in one system, with the work logged against what it belonged to.
