✦Built for working parentsYou are holding a list
nobody else can see.

The form due Friday, the passport that expires in March, the work you are actually paid for, and the thing you used to be learning. One place for all of it, so remembering stops being the job.

✦ The problem

Nothing on the list is hard. Holding all of it at once is.

Book the dentist. Reply to the school. Order the shoes before the trip. Renew the thing you renewed last March. Each item takes four minutes and none of them are written down, so they run in the background of every meeting, every bedtime and every attempt at an evening.

πŸ“₯
The list only exists in your head
It is not on a calendar and it is not in an app. It is a running process, and it costs you attention all day whether or not you act on any of it.
⏰
Deadlines arrive from other people
The school sets them, the surgery sets them, the club sets them. You find out about most of them 3 days before, and they land in the same week as everything at work.
πŸ“†
The same admin comes round every term
Kit day, forms, the annual renewal, the appointment that is due again. You rebuild the same list from scratch every time because last term’s version was never written down.
🌱
Your own goals went quiet years ago
Not abandoned in a decision, just never scheduled. Anything with no deadline loses to anything with one, and nothing you want for yourself has a deadline.

✦ Four pillars, one system

Everything you're building.
In one place.

01 - Projects

Two goals of your own, written where you can see them.

Give one thing you want a target date and a few milestones, and it stops competing with the school run from memory. The house admin gets the same treatment: the move, the summer, the room, each a project with an end, so it is a finite piece of work rather than a mood.

02 - Tasks

Empty your head into it, sort it later.

A task with no project goes straight to an unsorted inbox, which is what you need at 7am with a phone in one hand. Set the recurring ones once and the annual renewal comes back on its own. Today puts anything overdue at the top rather than mixed in, so you find out on the day, not the week after.

03 - Habits

Three days a week is a schedule, not a failure.

A habit can run on the specific days you actually have, so the walk is Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and stays honest. Strength is built from consistency and recency rather than a perfect run, which means one bad fortnight does not send you back to zero and give you a reason to stop.

04 - Skills

Fifteen minutes counts, if something records it.

Log a session in minutes against the language, the instrument, the qualification. Twenty minutes on a Wednesday looks like nothing on its own and looks like 14 hours after a term. The activity graph is the only argument that works against the feeling that you are standing still.

✦ Getting started

Up and running in under 5 minutes.

1
Write down the whole list once

Every open loop you are carrying, in one sitting, unsorted. It usually takes 20 minutes and it is shorter than it felt. Put a real date on anything somebody else is waiting for.

2
Make the repeating parts repeat

The termly forms, the annual renewals, the monthly appointment. Set each one as a recurring task and you never have to remember it existed again. Add one habit and one thing of your own.

3
Check Today instead of remembering

Overdue at the top, then what is due, then the habits. Two minutes in the morning replaces the background process, and the attention it was using comes back.

✦ Questions

Frequently asked.

Start by getting every open loop out of your head and into one list, including the small four-minute ones, because those are what consume attention. Then make anything that repeats actually recurring, so termly forms and annual renewals come back on their own. What is left is a much shorter list of real decisions.
Use one list and separate by project rather than by app, so a Tuesday morning is one view instead of two. In EvyOS every task can sit under a project, or under none at all if it is a one-off, and Today draws from all of them. The point is that you check one place, not that work and home stop being different.
The honest answer is that you find small amounts and they only count if something records them. Give one goal a target date so it competes with everything else that has one, set a habit on the specific days you realistically have, and log practice in minutes rather than hours. Twenty minutes twice a week is 30 hours a year, which is a different thing from nothing.
No. This is a personal system by default and everything in it is private to you. If you later want a shared list for the household, a workspace covers 5 people on one subscription and the personal space stays separate β€” but plenty of people never turn it on, because the problem was never that the list was unshared, it was that it was unwritten.

The list is not going to get shorter.
It can stop being invisible.

One place for the school admin, the renewals, the work and the two things you want for yourself.
