Jira holds the team’s work. Nothing holds yours — the follow-ups from six meetings, the answer you promised sales, the doc that is 4 days late and the growth you keep deferring. This is the layer beside the tracker, not a replacement for it.

The team has tickets, a board and a standup. You have a notebook, three Slack threads you starred, and a memory of what you agreed in a meeting on Tuesday. The work you are accountable for is visible to everyone. The commitments that make it possible are visible to nobody, including you.
Not the epics — your side of them. Discovery, the pricing decision, the launch, each with milestones and a date, and the quarter above them as a goal. This never syncs with Jira or Linear and does not try to. It holds the half of an initiative that never becomes a ticket, which is most of what a PM does.

One line, no project, straight to an unsorted inbox — that is all you have time for between meetings. Sort it later against the initiative it belongs to. Estimated minutes on a doc tells you it needs a 2-hour block, not a gap. Upcoming lays out the next fortnight one day at a time, so a launch week is visible before it arrives.

A Friday review before the week closes. Talk to a customer weekly. Read the support queue on Mondays. These are the first things dropped in a bad quarter and the reason the next quarter is worse. A habit with its own streak and a year-long graph shows you the month you stopped, while you can still restart it.

SQL, pricing, writing, whatever the next role needs. Set a target level, log the practice in minutes, keep the articles and courses in the skill’s own library. When the promotion conversation comes you have a record of deliberate work instead of a list of shipped features anybody on the team could claim.

Every promise from the last fortnight — the answer, the doc, the intro, the decision. It is longer than you expect. Group them into a project per initiative and put dates on the ones somebody is waiting on.
Follow-ups go in as one line each while the meeting is still open. Ten minutes at the end of the day files them. The team’s board stays exactly where it is and keeps doing its job.
The weekly summary shows what closed, what slipped and what you promised and did not do. That is the meeting-with-yourself the calendar never gives you, and it is 10 minutes.
